All of our scroll saw ready hardwoods are 24 inches long. They are kiln dried, surfaced & sanded on 2 sides. Sizes are NOT nominal, for example, if you order a 6" wide board, you will get a board exactly 6" wide, or wider. This is all solid hardwood, NOT plywood, and is NEVER glued.

Remember, every piece of wood is unique, so the wood you get won't look exactly like the pictures.
Walnut is a dark colored wood. Easy to cut.
Cherry is a hard wood which finishes to a nice reddish color that deepens with age.
Hard Maple is a light creamy color when finished. It's a hard wood which takes a great finish. Often times can be purchased as curly or spalted. Contrasts well to walnut or cherry.
Red Oak is a hard wood with tight grain. Color when finished can range from a honey oak to a darker country oak or reddish color.
White Oak a light to medium brown color, though there can be a fair amount of variation in color. Red Oak tends to be slightly redder, but is by no means a reliable method of determining the type of oak.
Sometimes called White Walnut, Butternut is indeed closely related to Black Walnut. While the difference is not black and white, the wood of Butternut is considerably lighter-colored than Black Walnut, as well as being very soft and lightweight.
Zebrawood is a light brown or cream color with dark blackish brown streaks vaguely resembling a zebra’s stripes.
Wenge is a very hard, dark brown wood with black streaks. It makes a great substitute for Ebony.
Aspen wood is white and soft, but fairly strong.
Ash has fairly good strength properties for its weight, and is also shock resistant.
Aromatic Red Cedar wood has a straight grain, usually with knots present. Has a very fine texture with closed pores.
Basswood is a light wood. Creamy color when finished. Soft, easy to cut, burn, or paint.
African Mahogany is easy to saw and takes a great finish. Reddish in color when finished.
Bloodwood is exceptionally hard, durable, strong, and beautiful.
Lacewood is a hard, exotic wood, which has the characteristics of lace in it.
Though many other species of wood can be yellow colored, perhaps few are so consistent and vibrant as Yellowheart. The boards are a very uniform and bright yellow.
Padauk is a hard wood. Bright reddish orange in color when finished.
Poplar is one of the most common utility hardwoods in the United States.
Purpleheart is a hard wood. Purple in color when finished.
